Harry Potter fans unite! Niantic, the same minds behind Pokemon GO, has announced an AR game based off Harry Potter. The rumors have been circulating for a few months, now it’s been confirmed by Niantic in an official statement on Wednesday.
“We’re incredibly excited to announce this next step in the evolution of AR mobile entertainment,” the post said. “With Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players that have been dreaming of becoming real life Wizards will finally get the chance to experience JK Rowling’s Wizarding World. Players will learn spells, explore their real world neighbourhoods and cities to discover and fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies.”
Pokemon GO sent the whole world on a craze for a few months, until majority of users passed the hype stage and went on with their everyday life. I can only imaging how players would react to the release of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, another wave of horde hunting is underway.
With every problems faced with Pokemon GO, Niantic definitely has a hold on this new AR game, having learned all the issues with servers and bugs from the past. Needless to say this game will be released to perfection.
Right now all we can do is await its release sometime in 2018, and look out for the official trailer in the coming months.
